 Critical thinking and media literacy are essential aspects in interpreting, analyzing, and comprehending the impact of media in our lives. Critical thinking involves the ability to analyze information, ideas, or texts, using observation, experience, reasoning, and logic to reach informed conclusions. It goes beyond the superficial understanding of a text or idea, exploring the underlying intentions or arguments behind them. When applied to the media, we question what is presented to us, trying to decipher implicit, hidden, or subliminal messages. Media literacy entails looking beyond the obvious in media.
